In order to meet the demands of the social public for the latest statistical information at national and regional level, China Economic Monitoring & Analysis Center of the National Bureau of Statistics has compiled "The Collection of Statistics on China Economy and Social Development 2005-2006" (Chinese-English edition, hereinafter called "The Collection").
The contents include: GDP, Industry, Agriculture, Finance and Banking, Population, Investment in Fixed Assets, Price Indices, People's Livelihood, Transportation, Postal and Telecommunication Services, Domestic Trade and Foreign Trade, Foreign Economic Cooperation, Culture, Education & Health Care, Science & Technology, and Environmental Protection.
"The Collection" is possessed of the following features:
(1) Timely: The latest annual statistics of 2005.
(2) Comprehensive: Data collection of 31 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and more than 60 major cities.
