This textbook is written based on a series of stories about the study and life of two foreign law enforcement officers in China and their friendship with Chinese friends.

The textbook contains 16 lessons and an introductory course. Pronunciation, numbers, and the basic strokes are taught in the introductory course. The other courses include a warm-up, two main text sections and comprehensive exercises. Among them, the main text sections include new words, language points, key sentences, dialogues/texts and exercises.

About the Author
Lu Wenxia, teacher of the School of Chinese Language and Literature of Beijing Foreign Studies University, has long been engaged in teaching Chinese for special purpose and beginners. She once taught in South Korea and the United States. Her publications of monographs and textbooks include A Pragmatic Study of Used Sentential Patterns in Spoken Chinese (co-authored), Faiz di China: Bahasa China Asas untuk Pelajar Malaysia and so on.
