1.To master the processing method of Mylabris.
2.To study the significance of processing for Mylabns，through comparing the
acute toxicity change of crude and processed drugs.
Experimental principle
Mylabris is the dried body of Mylabris phalerata Pallas or Mylabris cicihoriiLinnaeus（Fam.Meloidae） .It is odor，characteristic stinking，pungent in flavor，verytoxic，distnbutes to liver，stomach and kidney channels.This drug has the functions ofeliminating blood stasis and masses，cauterizing ulcers and inducing reddening andblister.And the indications are： mass in the abdomen，chronic tinea，scrofulid，cutaneous tubercle， carbuncle — abscess difficult to burst，malignant sore andslough.The toxic component is cantharidin in Mylabris.lt begins to sublimate at 84℃ ，and the sublimation point is 110℃ ，the temperature of wok is about 128℃when Mylabris is processed with rice.Under this temperature，cantharidin can partlysublimate，which significantly lower the toxicity， and the Mylabris can avoidcoking.It is reported that the LDso of administering （ P.O） the water decoction ofcrude drug to mice is 457.1mg／kg.The dose of 460 mg／kg（P.O） is administered tomice，to compare the toxicity of crude with different processed drug.
