“Series for Teaching Foreigners Chinese Grammar” is the achievement of “Researchand Development of Grammar Syllabus for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Languageand Teaching Reference Grammar Series (Multi-volume)”, a major project ofNational Social Science Foundation of China sponsored by Professor Qi Huyang,which has been selected as the “2022 Founding Project of National Publication Foundation”.As an important reference book for international Chinese language education, itaims to build and improve the “Grammar System of Chinese Teaching” for foreignstudents to meet the development needs of the new era. It mainly serves thefirst-line Chinese teachers, researchers, graduate students and undergraduatesmajoring in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. This seriesconsists of 39 volumes, including 4 outline series, 26 book series, 8 summaryseries, and 1 collection of essays.
This book is a collection of some of the best academic papers published during theresearch process of “Research and Development of Grammar Syllabusfor Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and Teaching Reference GrammarSeries (Multi-volume)”. It is divided into two parts: the first one focuseson the study of modern Chinese grammar ontology with 15 papers contained, whichis mainly dedicated to exploring and researching on grammar, and reveals thegrammatical rules that have not yet been recognized or are not sufficientlyrecognized; and the second one focuses on the study of grammar for teachingChinese as a foreign language with 10 papers contained, which mainly reflectson the theoretical level of the actual situation, or discusses specificproblems.
About the Author
Zhang Yajun is a Ph.D. in Philology of Chinese Language fromShanghai Normal University, as well as a professor in the College of LiberalArts, Yangzhou University. Professor Zhang’s research mainly focuses on grammartheory and application, and international Chinese language education. He haspublished many papers in Studies of the Chinese Language, Linguistic Sciences and other professional journals, two monographs, and severaledited and co-edited textbooks.
Pan Guoying is a Ph.D. in Philology of Chinese Language from East China NormalUniversity, as well as a professor in the School of Humanities, Huzhou NormalUniversity. His research mainly focuses on modern Chinese grammar. He haspublished nearly 40 papers in professional journals such as Chinese Teachingin the World, Research in Ancient Chinese Language, and ChineseLanguage Learning, as well as three monographs and several teachingmaterials.
