This illustrated book gives an introduction to the craft of cloisonne enamel of Yuan dynasty, enamel of Ming and Qing dynasties as well as metal bond enamel of different periods of Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. It consists of 5 parts with more than 30,000 words and 305 enamel pictures. The first part is preface which focuses on the introduction of classification of enamel ware and the development of enamel craft in China. In general, enamel ware could be divided into cloisonne enamel, painted enamel, champlev, transparent enamel etc. In Mongolia and Yuan Period, enamel technique was introduced to China and got to its peak in Qianlong Period of Qing dynasty due to the development and ceaseless innovation of Ming and Qing dynasties, but then it declined in late Qing dynasty. Taking ten real cloisonne enamel objects of Yuan dynasty for example, the second part gives an introduction to the characteristics of cloisonne enamel of Yuan dynasty. The third part displays 62 enamel wares of Ming dynasty and interprets the features of enamel ware of Xuande, Jingtai and Wanli periods of Ming dynasty.
