Details
This book may be used as a textbook for the courses of "Aircraft Environmental Control" for undergraduate students majoring in Aircraft Environmental Control and Life Support Engineering, and "Aircraft Environmental Control and Refrigeration" for graduate students majoring in Man-Machine and Environmental Engineering, taught either in English or in Chinese. It may also be used as a textbook for the selective course of "Refrigeration Technology".
This book consists of 12 chapters, which include 4 knowledge modules: basic theory module, environmental control and refrigeration component module, air cycle environmental control system (ECS) module, and vapor cycle refrigeration system module. The contents are systematic and advanced. The basic theory module contains Chapters 1 to 4, including Introduction, Fundamentals of Thermofluids, Atmosphere and Aviation Physiology, and Psychrometrics and Steady Flow Energy Equations. The environmental control and refrigeration component module includes Chapter 5 and partial contents in Chapters 6 to 9, giving prominence to heat exchangers, turbines, compressors, and fans. The air cycle ECS module includes Chapters 6 to 9, which mainly introduces the principle, design, and performance calculation and simulation of air cycle ECS, air distribution system, and heating system. The vapor cycle refrigeration system module contains Chapters 10 to 12, which mainly introduces the vapor cycle refrigeration systems, flow boiling heat transfer, and condensation heat transfer. Among the contents, the turbine and compressor characteristic modeling in Chapter 5, the ECS performance calculation and simulation in Chapter 7, Chapter 11, and Chapter 12 constitute the deepening and improving knowledge module to meet the needs of graduate teaching.
This book may also be used as a reference book for relevant engineering and technical personnel, as well as a textbook for various seminars and training courses.
