Chinesefor Engineering is a supporting textbook for core general education courses forinternational students of engineering-related majors. It is also aprofessional Chinese textbook for speaking skills and a series of internationalChinese education textbooks for national first-class undergraduate majors ofShandong University.

The textbook is arranged basedon the scenes (or themes), and 16 common scenes in the field of engineering areselected (16 lessons in total). Each lesson includes six parts: characters inthis lesson, text, words, notes, exercises and extended reading. About the Author
Li Mingqi works as anAssociate Professor and Supervisor of Master candidates in College ofInternational Education, Shandong University. His research areas focus on TCFL,language evaluation and multimedia teaching. Professor Lioffers Intensive Reading in Chinese, Chinese Speaking, Chinese Listening,Chinese Reading, Theory and Practice of Language Evaluation, Introduction toChinese as a Second Language Teaching, Modern Multimedia Teaching Research,Chinese Classroom Observation and Teaching Practice, Professional and GeneralChinese and other courses for foreign students, undergraduates andpostgraduates. He has written and published a number of teaching materials,such as  The Series of ChineseListening (Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced series), The ListeningVolume of MHK (Level 3) Short-term Intensive Course and one to six volumesof Road to Chinese· Listening.

Liu Wenping, an AssociateProfessor and Supervisor of Master candidates in School of MechanicalEngineering, Shandong University, is a senior member of Chinese MechanicalEngineering Society, member of the 4th Committee of Group and IntelligentIntegration Technology Sub-committee of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Societyand reviewer of Journal of Metallurgical Engineering, an international journal. His researches mainlyfocus on digital product design, technology manufacturing system modeling andsimulation, and his main courses include mechanical design, fundamentals ofmechanical design, course design of mechanical design, professional English,etc.
