This is the love story between Sima Xiangru and Zhuo Wenjun in the early years of the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-25AD). Sima Xiangru was famous for composing fu poems in ancient China, most of which were included in the classical works Records of The Historian and History of the Han Dynasty. His love affair has been sparked among young people of later generations because the genius of the scholar and the courage and resolution of Wenjun in defying feudal mores for the sake of love.
