20 years ago, 19-year-old Xiao Yanqiu shoots to fame for playing the part of Change (the goddess in the moon) in Flying to the Moon, she has a kind of persistent pursuit of art, and she paranoidly believes that she is the real Change. In order to play Change solo, she should scald predecessor Li Xuefen with boiled water, and from then on Xiao Yanqiu never gets to go up on the stage and is transferred to teach at an opera school. Over the past 20 years, she has always been cherishing the dream of returning onto the stage. A cigarette factory boss is nostalgic and sponsors the re-performance of Flying to the Moon. To go back to the stage, Xiao Yanqiu loses weight frantically and gives up her dignity by having sex with the boss. In order to play the role of Change solo, she breaks the promise she made to her student. After she has played four scenes, her apprentice Chun Lai finally comes on the stage in the fifth scene, and wins the audiences applause. In the audiences cheers and applauses for Chun Lai, and in the flying snowflakes, Xiao Yanqiu is dancing and singing at the theatre, finally sinking into madness.
