Everyday Chinese—Chinese Course Book for Middle Schools in Thailand is a series of country-specific textbooksdesigned for middle schools in Thailand. In accordance with the “Standards forMiddle School Chinese Teaching” in Thailand, this series has been designedalong three lines—communicative functions, linguistic structures, and culturalcontents, and has incorporated the vocabulary, grammar points, functions andtopics in the HSK Guideline. It is suitable for Thai students from first yearin junior high to last year in senior high. Novice learners will reach thelevel of HSK 4 after learning this series.This is Book 1 in the series, consisting offive units, 28 lessons. Units 1-2 each have five lessons, focusing onpronunciation and Chinese characters. Units 3-5 make up the main body of thebook, involving the three topics “meeting for the first time”, “my information”,and “family and friends”; each unit contains six lessons—one vocabulary lesson,three texts, one “pronunciation and Chinese characters” lesson and one reviewlesson. At the end of the book is a test paper.This book is characterized by simple,interesting and practical content, beautiful, concise and colorful design, andabundant supportive resources (including courseware, images, audios, videos,etc.). Learners can listen to the recordings using an MPR talking pen or scanthe QR code on the back cover to download the audio files.<br/>

<b>About the Author</b><br/>
Zhu Ruiping is the executive dean of College of Chinese Language and Culture,Beijing Normal University, and the deputy executive director of Beijing Centerfor International Chinese Education, whose research interests include Chinesephilology, international Chinese education, collation of ancient books, and Chineseculture, etc. Mr. Zhu has published more than 40 academic papers, more than onemillion Chinese characters of edited works, and more than 300,000 Chinesecharacters of monographs. He has hosted or participated in several big nationaland international projects. Feng Liping, professor in the College of ChineseLanguage and Culture, Beijing Normal University, mainly engages in the studiesof Chinese language cognition and L2 Chinese learning and teaching, and hashosted several research projects sponsored by the Ministry of Education and Hanban.
