This book is a collection of 50 papers collected from the Seminar on the TCFL Discipline Development in Chinese Universities, divided into two volumes. Papers in Volume 1 discuss the achievements of the undergraduate TCFL education in BLCU, which is a special-major development site of the Ministry of Education and the city of Beijing as well; papers in Volume 2 are selected from the 2010 Seminar on the TCFL Discipline Development in Chinese Universities, encompassing four topics, namely “Orientation and Features of the Discipline”, “Student Training Mode”, “Curriculum System and Textbook Compilation”, and “Discipline Establishment and Development”. All the papers center around the discipline development of TCFL in universities, supported by both theoretical basis and actual cases, providing theoretical and practical guidance and advice for the development of TCFL in universities.
About the Author Cheng Juan, Master of Arts, is a professor in the College of Humanities and Social Science of BLCU and a renowned teacher in Beijing. Ms. Cheng’s research focuses on modern Chinese lexicon and teaching and research of Chinese lexicon oriented to foreigners. Her major is Chinese Lexicology. She has published the book A Comprehensive Study on Chinese Lexicology and a number of academic papers. Hua Xuecheng, dean of the College of Humanities and Social Science of BLCU, is a professor and a doctoral supervisor who has published more than 60 papers in professional and academic journals such as Zhongguo Yuwen (Chinese Language), Studies in Language and Linguistics, Guhanyu Yanjiu (Studies on Ancient Chinese Language), Linguistic Sciences and Wenshi (History of Humanities. Mr. Hua has completed more than 10 research projects, including a national project and eight provincial-level projects. He is currently engaged in a national project.
