Kuafu Chases the Sun is Book IV of Chinese ancient myths. The story is from The Classic of Mountains and Rivers, a Chinese mater piece in the ancient time. Legend has it that during the reign of Yellow Emperor, the chief of the Kuafu people wanted to reach for the sun, so he began to chase it and raced with it. He drank up water in the Yellow River and Weihe River out of thirst, and eventually died on the way to Daze for he was so thirsty. His walking stick changed into a peach grove and his body into the Mountain Kuafu. This story reflects the Chinese ancestors wish to conquer the nature.
